Election
Districts
The Town of Lewiston has 13 election districts
within the Village and Town. Any resident who has questions regarding
their eligibility or place of voting should contact either the Niagara County
Board of Elections at (716) 439-7215 or the Town Clerk's Office at (716) 754-8213.
Tax Receiver's
Office
The office is open Monday through Friday
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the processing and collection of taxes, water and
sewer payments, culvert pipe and and other various permit fees. Please
call (716) 754-8213 ext. 235 or ext. 236 for inquiries.
Garbage Collection
Garbage collection by Modern Disposal within the Town (only)
takes place every Monday except for legal holidays. Garbage should not be
set out before 5 p.m. Sunday for Monday pickup, and empty containers must
be removed from the roadside by 6 p.m. Monday following the pickup.
Recycling bins can be obtained at the Town Clerk's office during regular
business hours. Arrangements for large or bulk pickup must be made with
Modern Disposal Services. Their number is (716) 754-8226.
Modern Disposal and the Town have arranged to
provide free dumping privileges at Modern's site at Pletcher/Harold Road
on the first Saturday of each month. Permits may be obtained in the office
of the Town Clerk.

and repairs all water mains, sewer mains, and hydrants.

pump units.

Provides locating
services for water and sanitary sewer facilities as needed for
contractors and public service entities.

Performs water and
sanitary sewer inspections of all new and existing houses and
businesses as required.

Senior Citizen
Services
The Town of Lewiston offers many varied
programs to the senior citizens of Lewiston. The Senior Services Center
located at 4361 Lower River Road is open daily. Information regarding
programs and services can be obtained by calling (716) 754-2071. In addition,
seniors who live in the Sanborn area can participate in programs held at
the Sanborn Fire Company. The Sanbornite Seniors group meets weekly. More

Town Clerk's Office
The Town Clerk's Office is open Monday through
Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to assist residents and visitors in
obtaining dog licenses, vital records, marriage licenses, conservation
sales, dumping and solicitation permits and other records as needed.
Special arrangements can be made for after hours assistance.
Bureau of Fire
Prevention
The Bureau of Fire Prevention provides the
following programs and services to the residents of the Town of Lewiston:

Inspection of all
commercial buildings and multiple dwellings.

Code Enforcement.

Investigation of
all fires in the Town.

Fire safety
information to public through school and civic programs and bulk
mailings.

Haz-Mat Control
Commission
The Haz-Mat Commission provides the following
services to the residents of the Town of Lewiston:

Responds to and
containment of hazardous waste material spills and incidents occurring.

Updates incident
training for haz-mat emergencies.

Maintains equipment
and current database for incident preparedness.
